Postponed: Buchanan County I-29 northbound bridge maintenance Monday, Aug. 24

Northbound I-29 on- and off-ramps at U.S. Route 36 closed

St. Joseph, Mo. – Bridge maintenance on the northbound Buchanan County Interstate 29 bridge over U.S. Route 36 in St. Joseph has been postponed until Tuesday, Aug. 25. The Missouri Department of Transportation had planned to perform bridge maintenance today Aug. 24, but due to equipment issues the work has been postponed until Tuesday, Aug. 25. This work will include closures of the northbound I-29 ramp to westbound U.S. Route 36 and the eastbound U.S. Route 36 ramp to northbound I-29.  

Traffic Impacts: On Aug. 25, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., I-29 northbound will be narrowed to one lane from the 45.8 mile marker to the 46.2 mile marker. The northbound off ramp from I-29 to westbound U.S. Route 36 and the on ramp from eastbound U.S. Route 36 to northbound I-29 will be closed. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during the closure.
